Considering becoming a DonorAdvisor?
DonorAdvisors are financial service professionals who have completed the required course of study and are trained to assist individuals with charitable planning. They are committed to providing philanthropic services to their clients through the Global Gift Fund and bring to the charitable giving arena years of experience in sound financial planning. DonorAdvisors provide clients with valuable information and education about Global Gift Funds and other charitable giving options, and play an integral role in the establishment of Global Gift Funds. DonorAdvisors can set up Global Gift Funds for themselves as well as their clients.

As a DonorAdvisor, you can assist your clients in:

  • Selecting the appropriate charitable vehicle
  • Creating a Global Gift Fund
  • Selecting the appropriate investment mix for your fund that meets your individual charitable needs
  • Identifying and designating charitable beneficiaries
  • Networking with donors with similar interests

Our DonorAdvisors receive training and education in the Global Gift Fund Program and charitable planning. The following steps will guide you through the process of becoming a DonorAdvisor:

  1. Complete and return the DonorAdvisor Application and initial $75.00 annual affiliation fee.
  2. Self-study materials will be provided by the Global Gift Fund that cover an overview of charitable giving, outline the code of ethics in philanthropy, and provide details about the Global Gift Fund, fund management and services for Donors and GiftAdvisors.
  3. Review the materials and complete the self-administered exam.
  4. Return the exam answers, completed Memorandum of Understanding, proof of Errors and Omissions insurance, evidence of licensing and a copy of your current ADV Part I and part II (for Registered Investment Advisors only.)
  5. Receive acknowledgement from the Global Gift Fund of your appointment as a DonorAdvisor.

Additional information on becoming a DonorAdvisor can be found in the DonorAdvisor FAQ and the DonorAdvisor Application in this section. The remaining areas of this site are for current DonorAdvisors only.
